CREW MEMBER (Snow Removal Technician)

LANDMARK is currently looking to add a Snow Removal Technician to our Snow Removal Division. This position is responsible for the professional execution of assigned snow removal projects provided by LANDMARK.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent

  • Speak, read, and write English

  • Valid driver’s license (Class A CDL preferred) & insurance in good standing

  • Willing to obtain a Class A CDL within 6 months of employment start date

  • Minimum of 1 year experience, 2+ years preferred in the landscape/construction industry

  • Ability to perform frequent bending, twisting, kneeling & squatting, and able to frequently lift up to 50 lbs; Excellent stamina is required

  • Ability to read, interpret & execute blueprints and specifications

  • Effective communication (both verbal and written) & time management skills

  • Carry and use a smartphone or data-enabled device for communication and reporting

  • Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines

  • Excellent observation skills and a strong attention to detail

  • Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team

  • Strict adherence to safety protocols, including but not limited to the consistent use of personal protective equipment, and company procedures

Work Conditions: LANDMARK performs services for a wide variety of clients in diverse settings from private gardens and backyards, to public spaces, or remote areas. The majority of work time is spent outdoors, sometimes under adverse weather conditions. Employees are expected to report for work prepared for the season’s potential adverse weather conditions (i.e. proper cold weather gear). Because of the frequent use of heavy equipment on job sites, exposure to dust and loud, prolonged noise is to be expected. PPE is provided and safety protocols are strictly enforced.

Schedules for this position may vary and may require flexibility to work extended hours and/or the occasional Saturday, particularly when inclement weather prohibits work during regular work hours, defined as M-F between 7 AM and 5:30 PM.

Job Duties:

  • Work closely with Foreman/independently in the de-icing and removal of snow from walks, driveways, and parking lots for various residential and commercial properties according to our specified contracts.

  • Always represent the company’s best interest, and maintain the highest level of integrity and professionalism.

  • Maintain a clean and safe job site, while ensuring current landscape and property are not damaged in the efforts of removing snow.

  • Maintain and care for your personal or company-provided equipment, tools, and vehicles.

  • Proficiently and safely use snow removal equipment such as shovels, plows, snow blowers, ATVs, skid loaders, vehicles with plow blades, and other power and manually operated tools and equipment used to perform snow removal.

  • Safely and appropriately distribute de-icing solutions, including calcium chloride or rock salt.

  • Perform highly physical work outdoors on a consistent basis in all weather conditions, specifically very cold, icy, snowy weather.

  • Required to wear cold weather gear and wear it appropriately to protect themselves against adverse weather conditions.

  • Work as part of a team and take direction.

  • Understand and meet contract deadlines without sacrificing great customer service or excellent quality.

  • Perform other tasks or projects as assigned/instructed by Foreman.

  • Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning as indicated by the manufacturer, or instructed by the supervisor.

  • Complete and submit all required reporting on a daily basis including site photos, daily progress reports, attendance tracking, time and materials billing summaries, requests for time off, etc.

  • Comply with all company policies and regulations

  • Maintain and enforce standards of cleanliness and organization in assigned trucks, trailers, equipment, jobsites, and shop/yard areas

  • Ensure that all work activities are carried out safely and efficiently and that all crew members are in compliance with government and company PPE standards

  • Enforce and work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations at shop/yard and on jobsites

  • Meet and/or communicate with customers – always in a polite and courteous manner – before, during, and/or after project completion to clarify project expectations, review progress, discuss concerns, recommend changes, and add-ons

  • Remain continuously on-call for snow/ice removal beginning each November and continuing through March, including nights, weekends & holidays, and shall report for duty within one hour of a qualifying snow or ice event

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor(s)

Job Type: Part-Time/On-Call

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
